Daewoo closes Kexim loan for US wind plants Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engi­neer­ing has received a $100 million bridge loan from Korea Ex-Im for two wind farms in the US. It plans to repay the loan with the proceeds of a US Treasury cash grant after it completes construction of the 20MW Little Pringle project in Texas and an 80MW wind plant in Oklahoma. The plants are set to come online in the third quarters of 2011 and in 2012, re­spectively. The developer of the projects is DeWind, a US-based wind turbine manu­facturer that Daewoo bought for roughly $50 million in 2009. The plants will use 2MW D8.2 DeWind turbines but do not yet have power purchase agreements.
