* The mayor-elect of Chicago, Rahm Emanuel, has named Lois Scott, founder and president of PPP advisory firm Scott Balice Strategies, to be the chief financial officer of the City of Chicago. Scott established a franchise advising US municipalities on concessions for parking and other infrastructure assets, an area where Chicago has been a leader, and has advised the state of Illinois on the hiring of a private manager for its lottery,
* Brandon Beach has been named chairman of the Georgia State Transportation Boards public private partnership committee. The panels role is to secure and guide private sector investment and expertise in major Georgia transportation projects.
* Floridas governor, Rick Scott, has named Ananth Prasad secretary of the Florida Department of Transportation. Prasad will be responsible for managing the agency, which oversees infrastructure projects in the state, and has taken a lead in using availability-based concessions in the US.
