Madrid-Toledo toll road files for bankruptcy

The project company for the Eu585 million ($745.4 million) AP-41 Madrid-Toledo toll road has filed for bankruptcy protection at the Court of Justice in Albacete, Spain. This is a first time that the sponsors of a Spanish highway have requested voluntary bankruptcy and has sparked speculation that other toll motorways such as the M12 in Madrid might follow this example.
