Dynegy joins Holdings in chapter 11

Dynegy Inc has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, as part of the process of allowing its subsidiary, Dynegy Holdings, to emerge from chapter 11. Dynegy, the listed parent of Holdings, placed Holdings into chapter 11 in November 2011. Disputes over the restructuring of two lease-financed plants - Roseton and Danskammer - and over the transfer between subsidiaries of a coal-fired portfolio have complicated the proposal, but the restructuring of both the parent and the subsidiary follow an agreement with all Dynegy creditors from April 2011.
